Bright Wood is a diverse organization with many career opportunities for hard working individuals.We'll train you in the job skills necessary to succeed and advance - - whether or not you have a college degree and/or experience. Your first week at Bright Wood begins with an orientation of our company, products, and safety policy. When you eventually reach the shop floor you will be introduced to your teammates and shown the ins and outs of your new job. Later you will have the option of more training to help you advance or switch career paths within Bright Wood. Wages: Starting wages vary widely depending on background. Production position wages range from $9 to $14.50 and more per hour. The average wage company wide is $11 per hour. People with satisfactory performance who start below plant base wage (typically $9.25 per hour) receive an automatic raise to the base wage within three months. Benefits: Bright Wood people in Oregon are eligible for major medical and dental insurance coverage, short term disability insurance, participation in Bright Wood's profit sharing plan, and eight paid holidays per year. Other optional benefits include college tuition assistance for dependent children, an Employee Assistance Program (EAP), life insurance, credit union membership, the Healthy Mother Baby Program, and the Living Well Program. Vacation time is earned at a rate of one week per year for the first two years, two weeks until seven years, and three weeks thereafter. Bright Wood University: Bright Wood University was established nine years ago to help Bright Wood people improve their professional skills. It encompasses our TQM library, home study courses, on-site workshops, and comprehensive training programs. Subjects range from job-specific skills to leadership to continuous improvement tools.
