This is a medical bill review service for enrolled members of Bright Wood’s Health & Wellness Plan. CoPatient uses a combination of proprietary software and billing experts to identify errors and overcharges in submitted paperwork. CoPatient then provides a free savings report highlighting the mistakes they find. At this point, the submitter can decide to resolve the billing conflict himself or herself or he/she can opt-in to CoPatient’s paid service so that a CoPatient advocate handles the appeal. In return, CoPatient asks for 35 percent of the recovered savings. See CoPatient flyer for more information.

Bright Wood's Employee Assistance Program (EAP) can help you cope with problems at home and work. Call 1-877-851-1631 24-hours a day, seven days a week when you need free, confidential help from a credentialed provider. The program includes up to six face-to-face assessment and counseling sessions per issue. The EAP also offers financial and legal services along with identity theft and fraud resolution assistance.

Empower Retirement is the administator and bookkeeper for the Bright Wood 401 (k) Savings and Profit Sharing Plan. Use their web site or call 800-338-4015 to set up and manage your account. Here are some things you should do:

»If you do nothing else, designate the beneficiaries for your 401 (k) account. The beneficiaries in your old profit sharing account are void and will not carry forward into your new account. There are two ways to set your beneficiaries: 1) your site’s Personnel Office will have a paper form you can fill out and turn in, or 2) set up an online account at www.empower-retirement.com/participant and designate your beneficiary(s) there.

»Designate what percentage of your wage or dollar amount you want to save. The IRS allows you to contribute up to $18,000 a year (plus another $6,000 if you are 50 or older). Auto-escalate is switched off once you set a percentage or dollar amount. If you want to opt-out of the retirement savings plan, set your contribution percentage to zero.

»Designate if you want your account to be a Traditional or a Roth 401 (k):

»With a Traditional 401 (k) your contribution comes out of your paycheck before taxes are deducted. This can lower your taxable income. Just remember that you will pay income tax on your 401 (k) savings and investment earnings when you withdraw the money at retirement.

»With a Roth 401 (k), your contribution is taken out after taxes. You don’t get the upfront tax break, but your account grows tax-free and your withdrawals aren’t taxed later (as long as you have the account for at least five years and are age 59-1/2 or older when you start making withdrawals).

»Designate how you want your funds to be invested. The default is the Vanguard Target Retirement Fund that lines up with your 65th birthday. If you want your money invested differently, then you need to set that up.

»Designate how you want to receive your account statements. The default is to receive quarterly statements in the mail. You might prefer your statements be emailed to you or not sent at all since you can see them any time on the Empower web site. .

Buying coverage and using in-network providers may save you and your family money on eye exams, glasses, contact lenses, laser vision correction, non-prescription sunglasses, and other vision-related products and services.

HealthEquity is Bright Wood’s Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) administrator as of January 1, 2015. Visit their web site to track your account balances, request reimbursement, and upload receipts for both Health Care and Dependent Care FSAs. You can also call them 24-hours a day, 365 days a year with questions at 866-960-8055.

Participants in Bright Wood's Health and Wellness plan can use this tool to comparison shop for health care. Call 866-228-7001 to let a concierge specialist do the research for you or use the HealthSparq web site to 1) find doctors or facilities with the specialty you need, 2) compare your out-of-pocket costs from several providers offering the same service, and 3) read quality reviews written by people who’ve already been treated by that provider.

You can plug your Bright Wood Basic or Plus Health Plan benefits into your results by linking your Regence account to your HealthSparq account. To do this, you must first set up your Regence account and then you will be asked for your Regence user name and password when opening your HealthSparq account.

Bright Wood associates have the option of receiving all your take-home pay or an amount you designate on a rapid! PayCard® MasterCard® debit card. Once you’ve signed up for a card with Bright Wood Personnel, use this web site to check your current balance, review a 60-day history of all the transactions on your card, and pay bills online.

Download the rapid! PayCard mobile app to your smart phone so you can check your balance, receive text alerts, move money between accounts, pay bills, etc.

What If My Card Is Lost or Stolen?
Call 1-877-380-0980 as soon as you suspect your debit card or personal identification number (PIN) has been lost or stolen. Call the same number if you notice a transaction you did not authorize in a text, online account history, or printed statement.

Also tell your site’s Personnel Office to deactivate your card. All the funds in your account will carry over onto a free replacement card so there should be minimal time when you don’t have access to your money during the work week.

You can call this number 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year to speak to a registered nurse if you are a member of either Bright Wood’s Basic or Plus Medical Plans. The nurse can help you decide if you need to see a doctor, how to treat a minor injury or illness, and answer questions about medications, tests, or procedures.

Regence BlueCross BlueShield of Oregon is Bright Wood’s claims administrator for the company’s self-funded health care plan. Use Regence's web site to find information about your medical and dental claims and view Explanation of Benefits statements.

This site is also where you go if you want to find out if medical and dental providers belong to the BlueCross BlueShield network so you can take advantage of preferred provider savings.

Two tips for registering on the Regence web site: 1) When asked to enter your Member ID, input only the numbers (leaving off the letters "BWX" printed at the beginning of your "ID NO" on your insurance card) and 2) your password must contain at least one of the following special characters: #, %, &, $.
